Published - Stylized Abandoned Mine Elopement

While we are finally mid-spring now, we all know this winter seemed to have gone on forever. If you’ve been following our blog posts, you’ll notice this year we decided to really take advantage of that cold white stuff and do some real Canadian photoshoots. We must confess, we really were not hoping for to spring to arrive as we had scheduled the following shoot for the end of March. But boy do we think it was worth it! We teamed up with some other amazing local vendors to bring you the following Ottawa wedding editorial, a winter elopement in the Wallingford Back Mine. Also a HUGE shout out to our models who literally bared their backs in the cold for us!

Rachel & Matthijs - Winter Wedding

Though Matt & Rachel's wedding was such a perfect example of a wintery wedding, it was way more beautiful watching their friends and family celebrate their love with and for this couple!

First Snow - 5 Minute Portrait

Today it snowed for the first time this year in Ottawa. I had some gear in the back seat of my car so we pulled over onto a side street on our way to Pho (the best thing to have on a wintery day) . We were starving so we didn't want to take long. I quickly threw a flash onto a stand and put a bag over it to keep it dry using the elastic from Katriina's hair to keep the bag on. I set the flash up behind Katriina to light the snow and used a low aperture to get the snow to make the snow light up in little balls of out of focus light (Bokeh).
