Portugal Vacation 2015

We are pretty darn pumped to share we have booked plane tickets to Portugal for July 1st to 14th! So far we have no other plans (literally not even a car rented... we should probably get on that), and so we wanted to do a call out to you, whoever might be reading this to share in your knowledge.

Any must see places? Epic swimming holes? Abandoned buildings? We will probably spend a few days in the major cities, but love to explore the countryside and experience some of the best that Portugal has to offer.

While it is our vacation time (a big props to our Brides & Grooms for not booking us for a couple weekends straight!), we're probably not going to be able to put down the cameras so if you want to collaborate with us, definitely get in touch! Honeymoon session anyone?

Here are some photos from our past travels, we can't wait to experience Portugal!

Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon - Definitely one of my favourite places in the whole world. I've always wanted to explore along the edge and see the sun rise or set at the Grand Canyon. Well.. we got to see both the sunset and the sunrise the next day. After driving from Vegas we arrived just as the sun was setting. We then set up camp in the dark and I took off with Teppo, Veera and Katriina to try some night portraits by the canyon edge. The next morning we got up early and explored the canyon edge and watched the sunrise before heading off to Horseshoe Bend.

This is one of the night portraits I was talking about. i was hoping to get an exposure of the canyon as well as the stars but the stars didn't really do what I expected them to as far as lighting up the canyon bottom. We ended up turning around and doing some light painting with a LED panel.

Hoover Dam

Remember when we went on a trip last fall? Well this is our stop at the Hoover Dam on our way to the Grand Canyon. We drove from California to Las Vegas and from Vegas to the Grand Canyon via the Hoover Dam. We won't be sharing photos from Vegas not because of the whole "what happens in Vegas stays in vegas" thing, but because we just didn't really like Vegas and basically just stopped there for a cheap hotel and a mediocre buffet. Hoover dam was pretty impressive. It really is a crazy feat of man, and despite the low water levels , churns out a lot of power.
