Cannon Beach

Today we left Seattle and took off to Portland. We made a couple stops along the way when we saw things worth visiting.

We took a little detour to Cannon Beach on our way to Portland. We could totally move here. The water was a little chilly but it didn't stop a couple of us. I had to look this up but the name of the rocks is 'Haystack Rock' and the smaller ones are called the 'Needles".

Seattle 2

Joined up with the rest of our travelling gang, we took on Seattle part two.

This is the market in Seattle. We didn't buy anything but moved on to find photo spots.

You may be asking yourself why there is gum all over the wall....I don't know...

Great view at the end of the day over dinner.

What's in my travel bag?

Deciding what gear to bring on a day trip is always tough. Deciding what to bring on a 22 day trip is even tougher. Here is what I settled on. It's definitely not everything I own but I'd rather bring something and not use it than miss something I didn't bring.

I've broken down the list of gear (minus a few bits and pieces) below.

1 . Western Digital 2TB My passport
2. Batteries and charger
3. Lexar USB 3.0 Card reader
4. CF/SD card holder.
5. Bubble leveller
6. Gopro Hero3
7. 13" Macbook Pro Retina
8. LED video light
9. Filter sleeve (ND,Polarizer)
10. Sigma 35mm f/1.4 ART
11. Canon TS-E 45mm f/2.8
12. Canon 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye
13. Canon 17-40mm f/4.0
14. Sigma 85mm f/1.4
15. Canon 5D Mark III Body (for him)
16. Canon 5D Mark III Body (for her)
18. Awesome camera straps

We also picked up a Lowepro Photo Hatchback 22L AW for holding some gear on day trips and hiking, as well as some of the less camera-oriented supplies (ie. snacks for a hangry wife).
