Portraits

Back to School

For this session, we had the lovely pleasure of shooting one of Katriina's old friend's from high school. Her boyfriend would soon be leaving to the States for school so we thought it'd be nice to get some photos of them together before he went adventuring outside of dear ol' Ottawa.

We did some of the photos at Algonquin College (they have a pretty cool plant wall and glass bridge), and then treated ourselves with some Suzy Q donuts afterwards.

Suzy Q makes a Finnish style donut (think sugar & spice) and boy, oh boy was I excited to try it. NOM NOM NOM.

Milky Way Portrait

Had to share this beauty. The sky was so clear at a recent cottage weekend with friends. I was taking a few photos of the Milky way and decided to try a portrait. This is not some sort of photoshop trick. We didn't bring any flashes with us so we had to be creative and use the on camera flash from a friends DSLR. The exposure was 30 sec long, shot with a 15mm Fisheye lens. The couple walked into the scene at about 20 seconds and I popped the flash to expose them. I think it turned out pretty well.

Tristan & Jami Engagement Session

These people are the greatest. No seriously. They are. And super cute together. They were so natural in front of the camera and seemed to have no trouble being themselves. As you can tell from this photo, Tristan's "himself" is a bit ridiculous. Can't wait to shoot their wedding this fall - November here we come!
