You've Got Mail!

If you haven't seen the cartoon floating around of mail vs. email, check it out now. I feel like it is very accurate. But today's mail was especially exciting. First, Jon's sister's wedding invitations came in the mail - almost a month till the day and we will be shooting her wedding.

Secondly, this beauty came! Our friend Lindsey contacted us earlier this spring about taking a few photos for their Save the Dates. They had a template all picked out, but wanted a couple nice, matching photos to go in it. The day ended up being a bit chilly and was raining, but they were troopers and didn't let the cold stop us from getting a bunch of great shots. What a treat seeing our photos printed out on a Save the Date. For more photos from this session, click here.

Adventures in Colour

I think it's safe to say we are outdoorsy people. Jon grew up in the country, and while I (Katriina) grew up in the suburbs, there wasn't much to do in the town as far as attractions, so you had to make fun outside. After selecting these photos, I realized how many of them are just us, outside, exploring. He's quite perfect for me. But please, join us in one of our adventures because a girl only needs so many photos of herself.

"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature." -Anne Frank

Evening Walk

This past week, we got together for dinner and a walk with one of Katriina's good friends who was visiting. After a delicious meal of Mexican (go eat at Ahora's if you've never tried it), we went around and tried out some portraits with her. Here is our favourite photograph from the evening.

Since we had no flashes with us and ISO can only go so far, we had to get creative for this photograph. (See photo below). That's right. The oh-so-technical and convenient  smart phone. With Katriina holding up two phones with their flashlight feature turned on, we were able to get a great photo. It also helps that since we were all laughing so hard at how weird it seemed, our friend had a great natural smile working for her.
