I'm Jon and I am the main photographer behind Jonathan Kuhn Photography. My wife, Katriina, is my assistant and second shooter.
We both have a love for photography - but for very different reasons. For her, it's the people and the memories that a photograph can so easily capture. For me, it's the beauty of the photo itself and the satisfaction of a well taken photograph, with natural light and authentic colour. This is why, as a team, we make a great combination.
Married in June 2012 we understand the importance of your wedding day and your wedding photos. We want your photos to be just as beautiful as the most amazing day in your lives so that when it goes by in a blur, you can remember the day over and over again through your photographs.
We are based out of Ottawa but are willing to travel anywhere within Eastern Ontario, or beyond. We typically shoot lifestyle portrait photography, which really just means we like photos of real people in their element - whether that’s in their own home or out doing the things they love.
DO YOU WORK ALONE?
Actually, I typically never work alone. In the case of weddings, my wife joins me as a second shooter and an assistant. For smaller photography sessions such as family or couples portraits we still often work as a team because, well, we work great that way! While I'm busy taking photos of you, she is often my second pair of hands or eyes, or is prepping for the next shot.
AM I ALLOWED TO MAKE MY OWN PRINTS?
Please do! Since prints are so easily accessible, we simply give you all the final (edited) digital copies of the photographs, and you can print them as you'd like. All photographs will be in full resolution (which means they can be printed in any size).
Please keep in mind that while we will deliver to you high quality photographs, not every print shop delivers optimal quality prints. Feel free to ask us where we would recommend printing your photographs to give your photos the true colour and look.
WHAT IS THE PAYMENT SCHEDULE?
Upon booking the wedding, we will require a deposit in order to reserve your date. The rest can be paid in the week leading up to your wedding. We will discuss the specific payment plan with you when we meet together but the last thing we want for you as a couple on your wedding day is to have to think about paying your vendors.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
For engagement or family sessions, we want to display who you are as best as we can. Clothing can play a huge role in that. You can be as casual or as formal as you'd like to be and you can even bring a second outfit if you'd like to change half-way through. It's recommended to coordinate your outfit with your fiance(e) or family, but keep in mind that coordinating, doesn't necessarily mean matching. If you're stumped, just ask us!
